Employment
Before applying, please take some time to read all the information on this Website, specifically about what it is like to work at MZIS (Please read this carefully to insure you are really interested in living and working at MZIS), the schools locations (note the differences – particularly in climate between the two sites), the downloads (please download and read) and whether you meet the minimum qualifications.
Candidates who are interested in working for MZIS must understand several key differences between MZIS and other International Schools:
- While the Superintendent will recruit all teachers for MZIS, offers of employment can only be given through PTFI Human Resources department, and candidates need to understand that this adds another layer, and time to the recruitment process.
- Salaries and benefits at PTFI are confidential but the Superintendent of MZIS has the authority to discuss these with potential employees. However, the Superintendent does not have the authority to offer “specific” salary figures to potential employees. All “specific” salary and benefit figures will be offered through the Human Resources Department.
- When an offer of employment is made to a candidate through the Human Resources Department, it must be passed through the Freeport Head office for approval. In addition, an offer of employment is “pending” until the candidate and all dependents pass a rigorous medical examination and the results are accepted by Freeport’s chief medical officer.
MZIS administration will normally recruit candidates using telephone, SKYPE, or in-person interviews. Telephone and SKYPE interviews can take place at any time but it is preferable to hold these in November. Once firm vacancies are established offers can be made at any time.
MZIS administration registers with Search Associates and the International Educator every year and most candidates who are eventually employed at MZIS come through one of those agencies. If vacancies continue to exist through January, MZIS will attend recruitment Fairs in the US, normally through Search Associates.
